In the early stages of the coronavirus lockdown – when the weather was great and you were encouraged to go out a exercise but normal clubs were stopped – we, as a family, looked for some ideas of how to explore the local area and came across the Walks section of The Ver Valley Society website.
The Walks section details a number of walks around the St Albans area and provides a great leaflet detailing the history, directions and potential stopping points on each route. When you go on the walks you also find there is route markers and they are well maintained.
As we’ve been doing the walks I thought it would be a good idea to share the experience, share pictures, and telling the story of what I found enjoyable and interesting on the walk. It’s a sort of child’s-eye-view and might help others my sort of age decide if it sounds like something they’d like to do.
My own experience is that I’ve found the walks a very good way to use your time and to see all the beautiful scenery around St Albans.
