Go Ape in Wendover Woods

About 2 weeks ago, me, my brother Euan, and some of his friends, went to Wendover Woods just outside Aylesbury for Go Ape and to visit the Woods. Wendover Woods is a big wood, managed by Forestry England, where you can explore the outdoors, walk and exercise, and Go Ape is a climbing adventure in the treetops. I chose to do the tree climbing as it looked fun.

Go Ape

In Go Ape there’s two different adventure trails – Treetop Challenge and Treetop Adventure. Treetop challenge is the high trail, with difficult obstacles, which you have to be 10 or over to do. Treetop Adventure is for younger children. We were there for one of Euan’s friend’s 8th birthday party so went on the Treetop Adventure.

Treetop Adventure has two circuits and you end both by coming down on a zip wire, which is really fun. On each circuit, there are all sorts of crossings and wobbly bridges to climb between platforms in the trees.

Wendover Woods

Afterward, we had a picnic then stayed to have a walk around the Woods.

There are different walks signposted and the one we went around included different equipment that you could either play on or use for exercise. There’s some great views over the Chilterns that surround the woods and some interesting information about what was at the site now and before – for example, there used to be a hill fort there.
