Yesterday was the hottest day of the year in the UK so we decided to go to Verulamium park to paddle. We went to the area at the edge of the main lake, beside the Fighting Cocks pub.
There’s stepping stones going across at that point, like my recent walk post – Ver Valley Walk 4: The Redbournbury Walk.
Along with that, the little area had water flowing down and had parts like waterslides which made us really wet!
It was really fun and I recommend it for a hot day to cool you off.
Wow Hamish
Looks like you’ve been having lots of fun. My children go back to school in Scotland tommorow.
This is a fantastic website. Very well done.
Thank you, Susan. I’ve missed school but I still have to wait a few weeks till I can go back, hope they have fun!
That’s fantastic. Another place I would recommend for amazing water play is Batford Springs in Harpenden. There is a weir there which you can literally sit under and let the water flow over you. There is a natural air gap behind the waterfall so you can breathe while you sit under it! Your parents might find it a bit scary at first because you can stay underneath for ages and they might think you’re drowning!
Thanks, Ben. I’ll have to go over there sometime soon!
