Today, we walked another trail from the Ver Valley Society. It was a shorter one and part of it is from the Ver Valley Walk 7 and the green ring.
You go through lots of beautiful scenery and it is good for a couple of hours or so. It’s easy to do and isn’t hard to follow. We chose this as we thought it was going to rain in a couple of hours and we thought we could fit it in before the rain came.
A big part of the walk is all around Sopwell. I’ve only really discovered Sopwell through doing these walks, what’s really noticeable is that there’ lots of scenery and water in and amongst the houses. We followed the ver river at various points, we overlooked a pond and a lake, and we passed nurseries on either side of the walk.
These pictures are by a pub called Hare and Hounds. Beside the pub there’s a decorative yarn bomb on top , which I’m going to mention in another post.
This is St Michael’s Church and a cemetery, it’s near where we started off and finished, by the Roman museum. It’s quiet and peaceful and has some nice flowers all around it.
It’s a nice, easy short walk around the city center and even though you’re around busy area’s your just enough away from them so that most of the paths you walk on are really quiet.
