Yesterday we visited a lavender field in Hitchin. It smelt very nice!
It’s very pretty and is a good place to spend a couple of hours. It has its own ice cream, even with lavender flavoured (but I got chocolate)! TASTY!
Arrangements, Costs and Getting There
At the moment, because of the Pandemic, the lavender farm needs to control the numbers of people who can come, so currently, you need to book to go and you can’t just turn up. The link to the website for the farm is here where you’ll find the links to book to visit.
The current price for the tickets will always be on the website. When we went (August 2020) there were five of us, two adults and three children, so we bought a ticket for a family of four and one additional ticket and the total cost was £30.10.
The best way to get there is by driving. It’s slightly outside Hitchin so it’s not great for bus or train. You can just type Hitchin Lavender into google or apple maps or use the post code: SG5 3UA.
This looks amazing. I’ve friends visiting Hitchin next weekend,I’m going to email them this link!
Thanks very much Jenni!
I’m sure they would like it and if they want they might be able to do the outdoor cinema.
Great write up Hamish , well done.
If I had to smell like two things for the rest of my life, I’d pick lavender and citrus.
But that’s just my two scents. 😁
Thanks Gary. I have to admit my dad had to explain the joke about scents to me.
This looks brilliant. We would love to visit one day!
Thank you!
Wow Hamish, you gave me all the info I need to arrange a visit and your photographs gave me the inclination to go!
Thanks for the feedback Perminder. That’s exactly what I’m trying to do share ideas so others can do them.
